rocknroll is a visceral experience. it moves. it sweats. it shakes. it's the moments that define the soundtracks of our lives. encapsulating that feeling in a static image, or a soundless-word is a never-ending challenge, and is what rocknroll.net is all about. This gallery is a collection of images that capture an elusive moment in the frame -- telling the story as a memory for those who were there, and to create desire in those who weren't so lucky.

The moments come in any number of ways, both on and off-stage. I first started shooting, essentially, at Poi Dog Pondering shows. I tried to document the show in its entirety, which with 15 or so members, film loops, props and a dance troupe, is no small challenge. But gradually I learned to look for the interplay between musicians on stage, the subtleties, and also the big shows. And there's really no better band to shoot if you want to learn about light, shadow, and motion.
